Ukrainian company plants jatropha in Mozambique

Ukraine-based ESV Group plc recently announced the purchase of Mozambique-based company Inveragro SARL and the acquisition of 11,000 hectares (approximately 27,120 acres) of land in the Inhambane Province of Mozambique. ESV Group said it had already begun planting jatropha there, and it intends to have 1,500 hectares (approximately 3,705 acres) sown by year's end. Plans are being drawn for a crush facility on-site and eventual oil exports to the European biodiesel industry.
